Idea

Tremma Agro Hub is an agricultural innovation ecosystem based in Lokoja, Nigeria, designed to transform agro-entrepreneurial ideas into scalable, impactful businesses. By integrating an innovation hub, venture builder, incubator, accelerator, makerspace, and co-working facilities, Tremma Agro Hub offers a comprehensive platform that supports agropreneurs from ideation through commercialization. Their mission is to simplify and accelerate agri-innovation, focusing on empowering rural youth and women to build sustainable agribusinesses that contribute to Nigeria’s food security and economic growth.

Challenge

Tremma Agro Hub is tackling the critical challenges of youth unemployment, food insecurity, and limited access to innovation infrastructure in Nigeria’s agricultural sector. In a region where rural entrepreneurs face systemic barriers such as inadequate mentorship, insufficient funding, and lack of technical resources, Tremma is creating an inclusive ecosystem that fosters agri-tech development and value chain enhancement. By focusing on underserved communities, particularly women and youth, Tremma Agro Hub addresses social and economic inequalities while advancing sustainable agricultural practices aligned with SDGs 1 (No Poverty), 2 (Zero Hunger), and 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).

Solution

Tremma Agro Hub provides a holistic suite of programs and infrastructure that equip agropreneurs with the tools, training, mentorship, and funding necessary to bring their innovations to market. Through its makerspace and co-working facilities, innovators have access to prototyping equipment and collaborative workspaces. The incubator and accelerator programs offer structured pathways for transforming concepts into viable businesses, including business model validation, investment readiness, and market access support. Tremma also operates a digital farm management platform, enhancing smallholder farmer productivity and bridging gaps in input access across Kogi State.
