Idea

Trans-Kalahari Logistics CC is a Namibian logistics and transportation company founded in 2009 by Josef Penda Mundjele. Initially focused on long-distance transport, the company has expanded into logistics infrastructure development. With extensive experience in cross-border transportation, Trans-Kalahari Logistics has positioned itself as a key player in supporting the movement of goods across Namibia and the broader SADC region.

Challenge

Trans-Kalahari Logistics CC is addressing the critical shortage of modern logistics and warehousing infrastructure in northern Namibia, where high temperatures and a lack of cold chain facilities challenge businesses in handling perishable goods. By situating the plaza at a strategic transport junction, the company reduces costs and transit times for regional traders from Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and the DRC. The facility is designed to support large-scale storage, streamlined distribution, and a range of professional services, helping businesses overcome logistical bottlenecks and enabling more efficient trade throughout the SADC region.

Solution

Trans-Kalahari Logistics CC is developing the Nakathilo Commercial and Logistics Plaza, a state-of-the-art multi-tenant business park in Ondangwa. The development will feature cold storage warehouses, refrigerated container yards, dry goods storage, and a commercial center with office space, all supported by a 1.5MW rooftop solar plant. The plaza aims to provide a one-stop hub for FMCG wholesalers, logistics operators, and other businesses requiring bulk inventory management, while offering sustainable energy solutions and efficient transport access to key trade routes in northern Namibia.
