Idea

Tiba Salama Digital Health Company Limited is a digitized community health programming company in Tanzania.
Tiba Salama Digital Health Company Limited is a social enterprise dedicated to transforming maternal and child health outcomes in Tanzania through digital innovation and system strengthening. By integrating mobile technology with grassroots healthcare delivery, the company empowers community health workers (CHWs) and connects vulnerable populations to life-saving maternal and child health services. With a mission to eliminate preventable deaths, TIBA SALAMA bridges critical health gaps through a scalable, tech-driven model.

Challenge

Tiba Salama Digital Health Company Limited is a digitized community health programming company in Tanzania.
Tiba Salama Digital Health Company Limited addresses critical delays in maternal healthcare: delays in care-seeking, accessing care, and receiving timely treatment. Tanzania continues to fall short of its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with high maternal and neonatal mortality rates. Rural communities lack reliable tools for newborn care, such as affordable solutions for neonatal hypothermia. TIBA SALAMA combats these systemic challenges by equipping CHWs with digital tools, sustainable resources, and technical support, creating a resilient foundation for community-based healthcare.

Solution

Tiba Salama Digital Health Company Limited is a digitized community health programming company in Tanzania.
Tiba Salama Digital Health Company Limited delivers its impact through the "eHealth Mom" platform — a digital health tool that registers pregnant women, tracks maternal milestones, monitors postnatal care, and maintains a real-time health registry. The pilot program in Tanga Region equips 30 CHWs across three districts to reach over 3,600 pregnant women in 12 months. Additionally, the TIBA SALAMA+ model integrates micro-financing, cardless health insurance, and a mobile-based community product distribution system to support both health access and economic empowerment.
