Liberia’s SYCADI Joins FasterCapital’s LaunchUp Program to Scale Sustainable Farming Solutions
SYCADI, an innovative agritech company based in Liberia, has joined the LaunchUp program by FasterCapital to accelerate its mission of transforming vegetable farming in the country. With plans to raise over $1M, SYCADI is leading a new era of food sustainability by introducing advanced greenhouse technology to combat food insecurity and reliance on imports.
Under the leadership of CEO Samuel B.N. Martor, SYCADI is tackling Liberia’s agricultural challenges head-on. Over 90% of Liberian farmers still depend on outdated open-field farming practices, resulting in a staggering national vegetable supply deficit of over 100,000 tons annually. By implementing high-yield greenhouse systems and leveraging modern irrigation, quality seeds, and tailored training, SYCADI is working to boost local production, reduce imports, and elevate rural livelihoods.
“We are excited to partner with FasterCapital through the LaunchUp program. This collaboration will not only help us secure the funding needed to expand our greenhouse farming operations but also connect us with global expertise in sustainable agriculture,” said Samuel B.N. Martor, CEO of SYCADI.
Hesham Zreik, CEO of FasterCapital, shared his support: “SYCADI is solving a real and urgent problem with a scalable and impactful solution. We are proud to welcome them into our LaunchUp program and support them on their growth journey.”
Zreik added, “Their mission aligns strongly with our commitment to backing innovative ventures that are reshaping essential sectors. We believe SYCADI will make a meaningful difference in Liberia and potentially across the region.”
With its bold vision and international partnerships, SYCADI is setting a new standard for sustainable agriculture in West Africa, positioning itself as a key player in the continent’s food security future.
