Moreover, ensuring a continuous supply of plastic waste and meeting local and international demand for recycled pellets presents logistical and operational hurdles. Spurtech Resources Limited is addressing the growing environmental crisis in Nigeria caused by plastic waste. Plastic packaging, particularly bottles, makes up a significant portion of waste in landfills and waterways, contributing to pollution and climate change. Improper disposal of plastic bottles contaminates both water and soil, which in turn harms ecosystems and human health. The demand for plastic packaging continues to rise as consumer preferences shift towards bottled beverages. To counter this, Spurtech Resources aims to recycle plastic waste into polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polypropylene (PP) pellets, which can then be sold locally and internationally for use in manufacturing various products. This initiative will reduce plastic waste and its harmful effects while creating a sustainable source of raw materials for industries in medical, agriculture, and manufacturing sectors.

Spurtech Resources Limited and FasterCapital today announced a strategic partnership through FasterCapital’s EquityPilot program to accelerate deployment of Spurtech’s 300m3/hr medical and industrial oxygen plants across Nigeria. The collaboration targets Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Delta, combining local operations with FasterCapital’s global acceleration, funding readiness and technical support.

Market opportunity & problem statement

Nigeria’s healthcare and industrial sectors face persistent oxygen supply gaps exposed during COVID-19; demand for medical-grade oxygen and industrial gases continues to outpace reliable local production. With a population exceeding 200 million and concentrated healthcare demand in Lagos and regional industrial zones, onshore cryogenic and PSA oxygen production represents a multi-million‑dollar market and a critical public‑health need. Spurtech’s regional footprint and dealer network targets this white space against limited national production capacity.

Startup solution & differentiation

Spurtech Resources (RC:1876724) designs, installs and operates 300m3/hr oxygen/nitrogen plants (UBP-300 model), producing up to 1,020 six‑m3 cylinders per 24 hours.
