Seelloh Joins FasterCapital’s LaunchUp Program to Revolutionize Academic Access and Fintech Innovation in South Africa
Seelloh, a South Africa startup founded by Joel Sello Sehlabaka, has joined FasterCapital’s LaunchUp program as it seeks to raise $1M to accelerate its mission of transforming the academic landscape through AI-driven solutions and fintech innovation.
The company is building an AI academic search engine aimed at becoming a one-stop-shop for academic services and products. In addition, Seelloh is developing a cloud-based business platform leveraging a "market harvesting" concept—an inventoryless model that connects consumers directly with producers of established brands. The platform will also support a venture fund acceleration network focused on helping students turn academic success into entrepreneurial impact.
Addressing rising academic costs, Seelloh aims to empower students to invest more wisely. It plans to develop its own publishing platform for academics to provide textbooks and course materials affordably, while offering students an online academic mall where profits from purchases can be reinvested into future ventures tracked and supported through data analytics.
Hesham Zreik, CEO of FasterCapital, commented, “Seelloh is tackling two major global challenges rising education costs and lack of post-graduate financial opportunities with a bold and scalable vision. We’re proud to support their journey through our LaunchUp program.”
He added, “The combination of academic AI, cloud commerce, and fintech makes Seelloh a unique and impactful startup. We're excited to see how their model can be replicated in other regions in the future.”
Speaking on the partnership, Joel Sello Sehlabaka said, “Joining FasterCapital is a great milestone for us. With their support and a successful raise, we believe Seelloh will become a leading player in shaping the future of education and entrepreneurial finance in Africa and beyond.”
Seelloh is currently seeking $1M in funding to support the development of its platform, expand its team, and scale its AI infrastructure. The company is based in South Africa and envisions a future where education becomes a tool not only for knowledge but also for sustainable business growth.
