Idea

Real Relief Nigeria is a social impact-driven company building more than just sanitary pads — we are creating a sustainable international business ecosystem. By positioning our hygiene products as eco-friendly, female-friendly, and socially conscious, we use them as an entry point into a broader Greentech industrial ecosystem. This vision combines recycling innovation, agritourism, hospitality, and local empowerment, making our business not only a provider of essential hygiene solutions but also a long-term driver of industrial and community development across West Africa.

Challenge

Real Relief Nigeria is tackling three interconnected challenges: inadequate access to affordable and safe menstrual hygiene, the rising environmental burden of plastic waste, and the lack of inclusive, sustainable business models in low and middle-income regions. In Nigeria alone, millions of women and girls either lack proper sanitary products or face recurring costs that strain family incomes. At the same time, the country struggles with unprocessed plastic waste. Our innovation directly addresses these pain points by recycling plastics into durable, reusable pads, while leveraging incentives, community-based distribution, and government partnerships to ensure wide adoption.

Solution

Real Relief Nigeria is pioneering world-class hygiene innovations like Gopad™, the world’s first disposable sanitary pad designed with biotransformation technology that breaks down plastics into harmless wax within two years, and Safepad©, a reusable sanitary pad tested to last up to 100 washes. These products address both menstrual health and the global plastic waste crisis, while being made affordable and accessible to underserved communities. By integrating distribution with Oyo State’s 730 health facilities, universities, and community outlets — and linking product incentives to our Greentech Industrial Park — we ensure adoption, visibility, and long-term sustainability for women and families.
