Idea

Pass Way is an innovative smart ride-sharing platform developed by Three S, a mobility solutions company in Egypt. The platform connects private car owners and daily commuters traveling in the same general direction, creating a structured and affordable alternative to traditional ride-hailing. By organizing shared rides with flexible semi-fixed routes, Pass Way aims to make daily commuting more efficient, reliable, and cost-effective for passengers, while helping drivers maximize the use of their vehicles and generate consistent income.

Challenge

Pass Way is addressing major transportation challenges faced by millions of commuters in Egypt’s urban centers. The current commuting landscape suffers from disorganized ride-sharing, high private transport costs, and a lack of safety or reliability in informal carpooling. At the same time, thousands of private car owners drive daily with empty seats, representing wasted capacity. Pass Way solves these issues by offering a structured, technology-driven alternative that blends the affordability of public transport with the comfort and reliability of ride-hailing services—filling a critical gap in Egypt’s $1.2–$1.5 billion urban mobility market.

Solution

Pass Way is a mobile platform that intelligently groups passengers based on shared destinations and routes, enabling flexible ride coordination between drivers and commuters. The system uses smart matching algorithms to connect users automatically, allowing for 3-person shared bookings or faster dual and solo rides at adjusted prices. Drivers register their usual daily directions, and passengers can subscribe on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, ensuring convenience and predictability. Secure payments, in-app feedback, and a rating system reinforce trust, safety, and service quality. The app is currently in the final testing phase and will be deployed shortly, with pre-launch marketing already active. Pass Way is poised to scale across Greater Cairo and beyond.
