Solution

Jasper EV Tech has developed a cutting-edge battery exchange system that allows electric vehicle owners to swap batteries in under 1 minute, dramatically reducing charging time. The system uses a LiFePO4 battery, which is safer and more durable than traditional lithium-ion batteries, reducing the risk of thermal runaway and enhancing performance in a wider temperature range. The Jasper Rapid Battery Exchange Station can service up to 60 exchanges per hour, potentially replacing hundreds of traditional charging stations. This innovative approach not only solves charging inefficiency but also eliminates the need for EV manufacturers to include expensive and heavy permanent batteries in their vehicles.

Jasper EV Tech and FasterCapital today announced a strategic partnership through FasterCapital’s Equitypilot program to accelerate commercialization of the Jasper System rapid battery-exchange platform in Europe (France focus) and globally. The collaboration combines Jasper’s patented one-minute battery-exchange technology with Equitypilot acceleration, funding support and go-to-market expertise.

Market opportunity & problem statement

Electric vehicle adoption is constrained by charging time, range anxiety and battery cost. Europe’s EV market is expanding rapidly (millions of new BEVs expected by 2030), yet infrastructure and fast-charge limits hinder mainstream uptake. The Jasper System targets the “skateboard” EV segment with front-loading, exchangeable LiFePO4 modules that cut swap times to under one minute addressing efficiency, safety and lifecycle impacts while opening white space versus slow-charging incumbents and one-off battery-swap trials.

Startup solution & differentiation

Jasper EV Tech’s patented Jasper System replaces heavy, fixed lithium-ion packs with modular LiFePO4 batteries housed in a manufacturer-licenseable exchange module. Key benefits: sub‑1-minute automated exchange without leaving the vehicle, lower vehicle cost, improved safety (LiFePO4 chemistry) and grid-support potential via station-cycling. Patents granted internationally and a planned French pilot fleet with dedicated exchange stations demonstrate technical readiness.
