Idea

Industrial Fishery Sarl is a pioneering aquaculture company aiming to revolutionize fish production in Cameroon and the Central African sub-region. The company is focused on creating a large-scale, industrial fish farming complex near the coastal city of Kribi, utilizing seawater to raise high-demand fish species. Its mission is to bridge the massive gap between national fish consumption and local production through a modern and sustainable approach to aquaculture.

Challenge

Industrial Fishery Sarl is addressing critical national challenges including a persistent fish production deficit of over 130,000 tonnes annually, the country’s heavy reliance on fish imports, and the lack of industrial-scale aquaculture infrastructure. With Cameroon’s growing population and rising protein demand, the project directly targets food security, trade balance improvement, and job creation through a vertically integrated aquaculture model.

Solution

Industrial Fishery Sarl is implementing an innovative, high-efficiency aquaculture system based on RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture System) technology. This closed-loop method allows for dense fish farming in a controlled environment with minimal water and energy usage. By producing marketable fish, floating feed, fry, and fish by-products at scale, the company provides a local, sustainable alternative to fish imports and positions itself as a regional leader in seafood supply and aquaculture innovation.
