Idea

Foodieree is an innovative food discovery and ordering app that merges social media-style reels, hyperlocal restaurant search, and direct food ordering into a seamless experience. Users can watch short food videos, order instantly from reels, or visit restaurants within a 10 km radius based on mood (family, date, business, party). The app offers stories, chat, and social engagement for food lovers. Restaurants and street vendors benefit from All free like organic reach, targeted promotions, and in-app advertising. Foodieree revolutionizes how people find, experience, and order food  both online and offline in their nearby 10km area. our platform combines the power of social media engagement, local search, and direct ordering into one seamless experience.


Challenge

Foodieree is solving the gap between food discovery and food ordering. While people often come across tempting food visuals online, there's no direct way to order from what they see. At the same time, traditional food apps focus on static menus and miss the engaging, real-life food experience users crave. Local restaurants and street vendors also struggle to promote themselves effectively, especially in the digital space. Foodieree bridges this gap by combining short food reels with instant ordering enabling users to discover trending dishes nearby, order instantly, and help small vendors gain visibility through organic reach and community-driven promotion.


Solution

Foodieree offers a unique platform where users can discover trending food through engaging short reels, order directly from those reels, hyperlocal restaurant discovery, visit nearby restaurants for family dinners, dates, or business meetings, and share their experiences, while creators earn commissions whenever their uploaded reel leads to an order, helping users discover and order food effortlessly while boosting visibility and growth for local vendors through organic reach and creator-driven engagement.


Story

The idea of Foodieree was born out of a shared frustration among us friends from tech and design backgrounds who met during college. We often found ourselves discovering mouth-watering food videos online, but had no way to order that food locally. We realized there was a gap between what people see online and what they can actually experience nearby. During our work on a previous startup FreeHydr8, where we distributed free water bottles in college events through brand sponsorship we met several restaurant owners. One owner shared how he had spent a lot on social media influencers to promote his restaurant, yet saw no real footfall or orders as a result. That story stuck with us. It highlighted the broken link between online food marketing and actual customer engagement. Over countless chai breaks and late-night brainstorming sessions, we decided to bridge this gap. We envisioned Foodieree a platform that combines short-form reels, hyperlocal discovery, and instant ordering in one seamless experience.
