Idea

Disam Solutions Group Limited is a social enterprise established and fully owned by persons with disabilities in Kenya with the vision of transforming disability into an opportunity. The company is founded on the principle that disability should be recognized as a reliable and viable brand for both profit and non-profit sectors. By positioning itself at the intersection of social impact and commercial viability, the company aims to demonstrate that disability inclusion is not merely a charitable cause but a powerful driver of sustainable business, innovation, and socio-economic growth in Kenya, across Africa, and globally.

Challenge

Disam Solutions Group Limited is facing significant challenges that limit its capacity to achieve its objectives and scale its operations. Since inception in 2013, the company has struggled with inadequate financial capital to acquire essential resources such as vehicles, office buildings, ICT equipment, and marketing infrastructure. Limited funds have also constrained its ability to hire and retain skilled staff, expand its outreach programs, and effectively implement large-scale disability mainstreaming initiatives. These barriers have slowed the company’s growth and reduced the impact it envisioned among the Kenyan public and across the African continent, hence the need for strategic investment support to build resilience and expand globally.

Solution

Disam Solutions Group Limited is providing innovative solutions by building the capacity of individuals, organizations, and institutions to embrace disability mainstreaming as a strategic practice. The company achieves this through professional disability mainstreaming trainings, consultancies, and empowerment programs, as well as through the development of disability-friendly media platforms such as the *Inclusion Magazine*, which has been in circulation since 2013. Additionally, the company reinvests its profits into sustainable projects that promote access to health, education, infrastructure, and tailored financial services for persons with disabilities, thereby ensuring equal opportunities and long-term social transformation.
