I do this by helping them clarify what they want, develop a plan to get it, and persevere in their pursuit. By “patriarch,” I don’t mean I’m in support of the patriarchy. I mean that I fulfill a variety of roles in my family, and the founder of a family business. “Patriarch” is my shorthand for all those together. The word “matriarch,” too.
