Challenge

CHIP’S FOR ALL is addressing the challenges of underutilized agricultural resources, lack of value addition to local crops, and the dominance of imported snacks in the Cameroonian market. Despite Cameroon’s abundance of sweet potatoes, few formal industries transform them into finished products, leaving most of the market to low-quality artisanal producers or foreign brands. By industrializing production, ensuring quality standards, and promoting locally made snacks, CHIP’S FOR ALL contributes to food self-sufficiency, job creation, and the promotion of healthy eating habits across the region.

The company leverages automated production systems to process one ton of sweet potatoes daily, ensuring consistent quality, efficiency, and scalability. Chip's For All and FasterCapital today announced their strategic partnership through the Equitypilot program, aimed at accelerating the national and sub-regional launch of healthy, industrialized sweet potato chips. The collaboration targets the Cameroonian market and the CEMAC region, with an operational and financial rollout planned over 12–18 months.

Market Context and Problem

The African snack market is experiencing sustained growth driven by urbanization, a youth population, and demand for convenient and healthy products. In Cameroon, sweet potatoes are abundant but undervalued in the formal sector; the majority of snacks remain imported or artisanal, lacking standardization. This fragmentation creates an opportunity for a local, consistent offering that complies with modern standards. CHIP’S FOR ALL addresses a clear gap: large-scale local processing, traceability, and packaging adapted to modern channels (supermarkets, e-commerce, export).

Startup Solution and Differentiation

CHIP’S FOR ALL operates a semi-industrial unit in West Cameroon capable of processing 1 ton of sweet potatoes per day into ~3,000 bags/day. Its value: healthy chips, without additives, and automated cooking and packaging to guarantee quality and food safety. The model combines local sourcing, strong branding, and multi-channel distribution (supermarkets, organic stores, schools, e-commerce, CEMAC export). Initial traction: validated industrial capacity, local supply partnerships, and pricing studies showing an attractive projected daily net margin. Defensible advantage: chain control, local raw material costs, and a "made in Cameroon" image optimized for the diaspora.

Growth Path and Plans

Over 12 months, CHIP’S FOR ALL aims to be listed in five major retailers in Cameroon, marketed in Douala/Yaoundé/Bafoussam, and sell 60,000 bags/month. The Equitypilot program will support capacity expansion, export compliance (CEMAC), and commercial structuring. Projected additional financing needs: seed round in 9–12 months to build a second line and expand regional distribution.
