Idea

Bio Tounsi is an agricultural startup committed to promoting better farming practices and a cleaner environment. The company’s vision is to revitalize the agricultural sector in the Remada region through sustainable crop cultivation, responsible livestock breeding, and local product transformation. Its core mission is to produce natural, high-quality food while protecting ecosystems, supporting local communities, and creating lasting economic and environmental value.

Challenge

Bio Tounsi tackles key challenges in Tunisia’s agricultural and environmental landscape. It responds to the low exploitation of arable land, the shortage of rural employment opportunities, and the overreliance on imported agricultural products. By promoting sustainable resource management and circular farming systems, Bio Tounsi works to restore degraded ecosystems, empower local farmers, and strengthen regional economies. The project also aims to reinforce food sovereignty and reduce the influence of informal markets by offering traceable, high-quality local products.

Solution

Bio Tounsi provides an integrated agricultural development model that unites modern farming technologies, optimized irrigation systems, livestock breeding, and agri-food processing. Through targeted investments in irrigation infrastructure, stables, machinery, and dairy and oil production units, the project increases productivity and product quality while reducing waste. Bio Tounsi also promotes eco-friendly farming practices that conserve water, enhance soil fertility, and generate value-added products such as milk, cheese, olive oil, and dates.
