Aziza Cœur Saint is a humanitarian organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations, particularly abandoned women and children in Mauritania. The association’s core idea is to create a safe, nurturing environment that offers shelter, education, and opportunities for personal and professional development. By providing comprehensive care and training, the organization aims to empower these individuals to rebuild their lives with dignity and independence.

Challenge

Aziza Cœur Saint is addressing major social challenges such as child abandonment, extreme poverty, and the marginalization of women in Mauritania. Many children and women lack access to basic needs, education, and health services, leaving them in cycles of vulnerability. Through its programs, the association seeks to reduce poverty, improve access to essential services, and provide sustainable opportunities for growth and social reintegration.

Solution

Aziza Cœur Saint is establishing a multifunctional center in partnership with the Association Assistance à l’Enfance Déshéritée in Nouakchott Ouest. This 600-square-meter center will include an orphanage, an infirmary, training spaces, and recreational areas. It will provide accommodation, education, professional training (such as computing, tailoring, cooking, and decoration), language courses, religious education, healthcare, and psychosocial support — ensuring a holistic approach to the well-being and integration of beneficiaries.

Association Aziza Cœur Saint and FasterCapital announced a strategic partnership today through FasterCapital’s EquityPilot program to accelerate the nonprofit’s shelter, vocational training and health services across Cameroon and the West African region. The collaboration combines Aziza Cœur Saint’s field programs with FasterCapital’s acceleration, technical support and fundraising capabilities to scale impact and unlock $1M in growth capital.
